Welcome to Larkspur Nursery
Specialist Delphinium Growers
We are a small family run nursery which specialises in growing a wide range Delphiniums from cuttings supplied direct to the gardener via mail order. Situated in the delightful Fens of Lincolnshire we benefit from long sunny days which are ideal for growing healthy delphinium plants. With over 20 years experience of propagation, gained whilst working for the Royal Horticultural Society, we know what constitutes a good strong plant. We are hoping to continue to expand our collection and make even more varieties of the Delphinium elatum and Delphinium Belladonna Group available to gardeners, so we are happy to hear from any keen delphinium gardeners out there who have rare delphinium plants we could add to our collection. ll comments or feedback about the website are welcomed, to do this please contact us at info@larkspur-nursery.co.uk If you would like a copy of our catalogue please send 2 First Class stamps with your address to: Larkspur Nursery, Fourways, Dog Drove South, Holbeach Drove, Spalding, Lincolnshire PE12 0SD |
What's Happening On the Nursery Now
We have now finished sending out plants for 2008 and are busy preparing our stock plants for next year. This is a time of year when we have lots of watering and potting to do and also the general tidying up we have had to leave during our busy time. We have recently expanded our standing out area so we hope our display of flowering young delphiniums plants will be even better this autumn!
We have sown our own open pollinated seed again (see main picture) this year and we have hundreds of seedlings to select from. We must stress that we cannot guarantee the colours of seedlings but we have found many varieties produce at least some seedlings similar to the mother plants, as well as some delightful variations. Please order the plants themselves if you need delphiniums of a definate colour and form.
There is a still just time for seed sowing, for those keen propagators amongst you, if you can protect your young seedling plants this winter. We still have seed for sale and will be adding to the list soon once we have finished collecting this year's seed. Please check out our Seed List for available seeds and place orders by post using the Seed Order Form or place orders online using PayPal.
